Spanish White Guerrilla Riesling 2012 – Bodegas Maetierra.
Its adaptation has been surprisingly satisfactory. It is a wine which features fine elegant and very subtle aromas. It presents great unctuosity, structure and elegance when passing one’s throat. A great revelation.
100% Riesling. Grado alcohólico 12% Vol.
A young vineyard, following the high trellis system and featuring a high density of 3,600 plants per hectare on low production calcareous clay soils.
During mid-September, carried out at night from 01:00 AM to 09:00 AM with the aim of finding the coolest temperatures of the day and thus protecting the grape from oxidation.
Fermented in a 3000 litre capacity stainless steel tank at a low temperature, around 11 degrees centigrade. In the final stage, fermentation is brought to a halt by means of a sudden cooling, and thus leaving a small amount of the own grape’s sugar content in the wine without fermenting.
Nota de Cata
Straw yellow colour which takes on more golden tones with time. An elegant and fine wine on the nose, highlighting fruity and dry hay notes, and some confectionery notes in combination with other more acidic aromas. On the palate it presents a magnificent balance between its high acidity and the small amount of unfermented sugar, providing it a tasty, long, greedy and acidic mid-palate.
